香港報業公會主席
傳媒是社會文明發展中不可或缺的軟實力。它既是資訊交流的重要環節,亦塑造城市與國家的形象,更在文化傳承及凝聚社會核心價值中發揮重要作用。香港作為國際大都會,享有「一國兩制」的獨特優勢。傳媒堅守求真求實的專業原則,不僅是維護基本法所保障的言論與出版自由的最佳實踐,更是彰顯香港法治精神的身體力行。 今年是國家「十五五」規劃的開局之年,特區政府亦正籌備香港自身的首個五年規劃。如何實事求事,全面呈現中國與香港的真實故事,發揮「超級聯絡人」的角色,是我們的使命。唯有持續自我提升、善用科技,方能維護得來不易的聲譽,讓世界更立體地了解祖國與香港。 數字化時代既是幸運亦是挑戰。人工智能顛覆傳統認知,卻也釋放創造力。科技迭代重塑新聞生產與傳播模式,改變受眾習慣。對新聞工作者而言,這意味著不確定,但同時孕育新機遇。科技的意義在於造福人類,使用科技的人,在於令社會更美好,而非反其道而行之。作為新聞工作者,科技之為我所用,在於更快,更準傳播真相,而非有意無意混淆視聴。因此,不忘新聞專業之初心,同時勇做科技弄浪兒,才是傳媒行業賴以生存之唯一正途! 傳媒的健康成長離不開社會支持。真誠直言的傳媒是社會進步的必要條件,但亦須避免偏離事實或嘩眾取寵。要確保優質新聞源源不絕,必須培養一代又一代優秀人才,這需要各方攜手努力。我們期待亦相信特區政府在推動創新科技與產業升級的同時,會為本港傳媒業的可持續發展創造更有利條件。健康、多元、守法及專業的媒體生態,是「一國兩制」的重要基石之一。本會將繼續與政府及各持份者坦誠溝通,增進互信。 2025 年度「香港最佳新聞獎」作品水準卓越,展現業界對專業精神與報道質素的堅持。在此,我謹代表香港報業公會,衷心感謝社會各界的支持,感謝評審委員的付出,以及各贊助機構的鼎力支持。最後,熱烈祝賀得獎者,並期望業界同仁在迎接科技變革的同時,堅守專業,在改變中尋求突破。香港報業公會定必恪守使命,推動報業發展更上層樓,為香港的繁榮與穩定作出更大貢獻。

The Media plays a critical role in the development of civilization. It is a form of "soft power," more than just a means of communicating information. The media helps shape the image of cities and nations, promoting cultural exchanges and consolidating social values. Under "One Country, Two Systems", Hong Kong enjoys many unique advantages, including freedom of speech and freedom of publication. These are enshrined in the Basic Law. Adherence to professional, fact-based journalism exemplifies the best media practice and showcases the spirit of the rule of law. This year marks the beginning of China's 15th Five-Year Plan. Hong Kong is also in full swing, preparing its own five- year blueprint for the first time, to align with national developments. Local media is on board with the mission to present to the world the true stories of China, including Hong Kong, in a comprehensive and holistic way. In this sense, the media serves as a "super connector" between China and the world. In this fast changing digital era, we are facing unprecedented challenges. Only by constantly upgrading our professional skills and harnessing new technology can we keep the trust of our readers at home and abroad. In this way, we can provide them with the full picture of our country and our home city, Hong Kong. Credibility is hard to earn and even harder to maintain. The rapid development of technology and the proliferation of AI bring blessings but also challenges. AI upends conventional thinking, while also unlocking creativity. It changes the way news is produced and consumed, just as it alters our way of life and habits. For the media industry, this creates uncertainties but also new opportunities. We believe that technology should eventually serve the good of humanity. Technology users should act with the conviction to make our world a better place. Media professionals should use technology to tell the truth faster and with greater accuracy, not to mislead or confuse our audience by straying from facts or chasing sensationalism. The only viable path for the industry's future is to remain faithful to ethical, high quality journalism, while boldly embracing technological innovation with an open mind. A healthy media ecosystem cannot flourish without societal support. A dynamic and forthright press is essential to social progress. It's future therefore lies in grooming the next generations of talented and passionate professionals. This is the shared mission and responsibility of both the media industry and its stakeholders. In this regard, we trust and hope that the HKSAR government will facilitate a more favourable environment for the industry's sustainable development as it pushes for the upgrading of innovation and technology. A healthy media ecosystem ensures a diverse, law-abiding industry, serving as one of the cornerstones of "One Country, Two Systems". The Newspaper Society of Hong Kong will continue its honest exchanges with various stakeholders, including the government, to strengthen mutual understanding and trust. The entries for the 2025 Hong Kong News Awards demonstrate a high standard and showcase the commitment of participating organisations to journalistic excellence. On behalf of the NSHK, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all parties involved, in particular our dedicated judging panels and supportive sponsors. Congratulations to all the award winners! As our industry faces huge disruptions of various types, let us firmly maintain our professional standards, pursuing meaningful and constructive reforms for transformative growth!
