Chairman's message

Professionalism is critical to the work of journalists as they go about taking snap shorts of our daily lives. Their records of happenings big and small will in time become valuable materials of history. That is why journalists are both witnesses and writers of history. The society has high expectations on journalists, demanding their reports to be objective, fair, accurate and timely. The Hong Kong News Awards represents the highest professional standards of journalism in Hong Kong. It is widely recognized by media practitioners and the community at large as the most authoritative award of its kind of newspapers.

I would like to congratulate all the winners. You have been witnesses of Hong Kong's past and present, and will continue to write its new chapters in the future. At this difficult moment of Hong Kong's history, I urge you all to continue to do your best as you record the ups and downs of the times.
